Below are the 5 easy steps to get a Ninja Coffee Bar Cleaner
1. Preparing the descaling solution
This is a primary step while cleaning your Ninja. If you are using a branded descaling solution then follow the instructions on the label carefully.
But if you are planning to use white vinegar, then pour 2 cups of vinegar in the reservoir and fill the rest of it with water.
2. Put every part in place
Now make sure that the carafe is in its actual place in the coffee maker to ensure that the cleaning solution flows back here once the cycle is complete.
Note that the carafe setting is at “FULL” so that it works the best.
3. Run the clean cycle
Next, you need to run the clean cycle of the Ninja Coffee Maker. During this cycle, the descaling solution runs through all the tubes of the coffee machine and breaks up the calcium deposited.
Depending on the model of the machine it can take from 8 to 60 minutes.

4. Flush cycle
This step is model specific. If your coffee maker model has this facility then you can run this cycle within 15 minutes of the completion of the clean cycle.
For this, you need to wash both the reservoir and carafe and then fill the former with clean water. The machine will automatically display “FLUSH”, so press the “CLEAN” button to run the 8-minute flush cycle.
If your coffee machine model doesn’t have this feature, all you need to do is simply fill the water reservoir with clean water and run an empty cycle without any coffee at least twice, to flush out the remaining calcium deposit on the tubes completely.
5. Clean and rinse
Once the cleaning cycle is over you can clean the rest of the machine. Finally, clean the water reservoir, the filter and the carafe with hot soapy water. Also, clean the exterior of the machine with warm soapy liquid and a soft cloth.
This would include swinging brew basket, the showerhead, area below the water reservoir and the reservoir lid. Remember never plunge the base in water.
Why Choose Descaling Solution Over White Vinegar?
It is said that the descaling solution works best for cleaning your Ninja Coffee Maker. It contains citric acid which effectively dissolves the basic lime and calcium mineral that gets accumulated inside the machine.
It doesn’t contain any phosphates rather the solution is biodegradable and non-toxic. It is easy to use and doesn’t leave behind any bad odour as vinegar does. The coffee machine is known to work better when cleaned with any branded descaling solution.
Make it a Habit
If you are using a Ninja Coffee Maker, you should make it a habit to clean the filter basket, the frother and the carafe after every use.
At least once a day you should discard the grounded coffee beans and wash the filter and the carafe with mild soap and water. When the “CLEAN” light turns on, then it should be definitely cleaned properly following the above-mentioned steps.
If the “CLEAN” light of the Ninja Coffee Maker doesn’t go off even after completing the cleaning cycle, it indicates that the brewer still contains calcium deposit. Then you need to repeat the descaling process to free the machine of the remaining calcium build-up.
- Make sure that the brewer is allowed to cool before cleaning
- Turn off the power outlet when you’re rinsing the unit with water
- While the clean cycle is on, do not press any other button
- You can use a dishwasher to clean the external parts of the machine
- The warming plate is very fragile, so be careful while wiping it
- You can use lemon and water to clean the coffee maker as it leaves behind a fresh fragrance
Please note that cleaning your Ninja Coffee Maker is not a big deal. If you follow the above-mentioned steps carefully your job will be done in no time and the best part is you will notice a big difference in the taste of your coffee.
The coffee you make will have a better flavor and the life of your coffee machine will also increase.
